Western Cape culinary tour

We call South Africa the Rainbow nation and so it does offer a Rainbow gastronomy as well! The Boers, Indian, Malay people, French, British have their footprint in the South African cuisine. This tour is an array of wine, dine and recline adventures across the Western Cape to discover hidden gems, meet with locals and enjoy your holidays in Cape Town in a cavalcade of culinary experiences. This tour can be shortened or longer.

DAY 1 (FRIDAY)

Challenge all your senses in Constantia and the Cape Peninsula: delicious breakfast in a beautiful wine estate, followed by a wine tasting. Lunch overlooking the sea. Discover Cape Point and its ostriches. Goa cheese tasting. Aperitif overlooking the sea. African dinner. Overnight in charming guest house in Cape Town.

 

DAY 2 (SATURDAY)

Enjoy a breakfast at a very trendy market in Cape Town. Meet a wine maker in Franschhoek. Lunch in a stunning wine estate. Meet a wine maker in Stellenbosch. Fine dining and overnight in the winelands.

 

DAY 3 (SUNDAY)

Drive to Lamberts Bay. Open air restaurant. Free time. Food and wine pairing. Overnight at a charming guest house in Lamberts Bay.

 

DAY 4 (MONDAY)

Drive to the Cederberg. Foraging session and cooking class. 3h hike to a remote village. Preparation of dinner with the locals. Overnight in the village.

 

DAY 5 (TUESDAY)

Typical South Africa breakfast. Return to "civilisation" by donkey cart. Rooibos tea tasting. South African cooking class. Overnight in a charming guest house.

 

DAY 6 (WEDNESDAY)

Breakfast at the guest house. Visit of a Rooibos tea farm. Rooibos, wine and food pairing. Overnight at a charming guest house in Paternoster.

 

DAY 7 (THURSDAY)

Free time in Paternoster. Foraging lunch. Overnight in Paternoster.

 

DAY 8 (FRIDAY)

Drive to Hopefield. Discover honey products. Special dinner with locals and overnight in a guest house.

 

DAY 9 (SATURDAY)

Coffee at Hopefield market (optional). Drive to Riebeeck Kasteel. Chocolate and olive oil tastings. Free time in the village. Return to Cape Town. Lunch in a beautiful restaurant. Return to Cape Town.

Dates:  Tours can be organised at your own dates from end of September to April. Tours must start on Friday. 

Prices: Total price self drive R20000pp (around EUR1430pp) / Total price guided R26800pp (around EUR1900pp)
